Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. - Psalm 119:105
生有时,死有时;栽种有时,拔出所栽种的也有时;
杀戮有时,医治有时;拆毁有时,建造有时;
哭有时,笑有时;哀恸有时,跳舞有时;
拋掷石头有时,堆聚石头有时;怀抱有时,不怀抱有时;
寻找有时,失落有时;保守有时,舍弃有时;
撕裂有时,缝补有时;静默有时,言语有时;
To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones. and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep slience, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace.
What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-13)
Some verses from Job that are thought provoking to me:
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee. (Job 40:15)
Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? Whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. (Job 41:11)
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine right hand can save thee. (Job 40:14)
When I was questioning God, I went and read Job. I read the long passage about how the behemoth lives as the fiercest beast, all powerful and at ease. Then I thought, well, man is the weakest creature among all beasts. Can we fight like a lion, or can we run like a horse? God created man to be lifted up by his faith. God created man to depend on Him. For without faith and depending on Him, all we do is just emptiness. Who are we to ask upon Him for things of this world to follow our will and command, when whatsoever under the whole heaven is His? Only by faith in Him and His mighty power, can man, the weak creature that we are, rejoice. When we cast down our pride, trust and follow Him, that's when He says - "then will I also confess unto thee that thine right hand can save thee."
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. - Proverbs 3:5
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one whohas been tempted in every way just as we are - but yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Heb. 4:15-16)
Our father, who art in heaven,
Hollowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. - Col. 3:1-2
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he habor anger forever. He does not treat us as our sins deserve, or repay us our inquities. For as high as the heavens are above the Earth, so great is his love for those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed his transgressions from us. - Psa. 103:8-12
Brothers, I do not consider myself yet have taken hold of it. One thing I do: forgetting what is behind, and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Phil. 3:13-14
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans:12:12
Chinchin's favorit.
Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.
