Find rest, O my soul, in God alone

Lately, I have been quite down, but HE is a God who works wonders. HIS grace is sufficient for us, for HIS power is made perect in our weaknesses! I praise Him for lifting me up when I was sliding back. I praise HIM for touching my mom's heart little by little. I praise HIM for HE knows the best plan for us, and He has the best timing of everything. I praise HIM for HIS words of Wisdom.

Yesterday, I read Psalm 62 to Ethan when I put him to sleep. The psalm really touched my heart, as if HE was speaking to me directly. Here are the excerpts from the Psalm.

5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God [a] ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

The other day, John shared Hebrews 4:11
"Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience."

My our soul find rest in HIM alone. May we trust HIM at all times and pour out our hearts to HIM.

Dear Christine, I feel for you.

To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones. and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep slience, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace.

(Ecclesiastes 3)

Our time is in God's keep. So is everything happening under the sun. Praise God for His mercy through restless and painful moments, and His comfort comes in forms of hope and relief. He alone is our refuge and shelter, He alone is our hope and trust.

I praise the Lord for in moments of pain He sent me assurance and led me to look beyond what's happening. He sent me an estranged friend weeping in my arms, and our hearts reunioned in seeking comfort in the all Mighty God. I would normally detest her story and her way of things, but God brought her to me in my painful moments so my heart would have sympathy and realize the wrong of disliking her for her behavior. God made me, and God also made her.

I am glad that through our talk my friend was able to realize that the time for her weeping has been long enough. And God put the resolution in her heart to stand up back on her feet again. She has bigger issues than I do, thus in a way, I was taught the same. Praise the Lord.

There is no greater wisdom than God's.

Nothing lasts except the grace of God, by which I stand in Jesus.

Alone in the desert
Alone in the garden of Gethsemane
Alone on the cross.

A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.

And this is the model, the perfection of humanity. It is His lot we are promised. He came to join us on the earth, we go to join Him in the skies. So, we know what to expect on earth... and in heaven, where we have perfect communion with every brother and sister.

I just learnt about the difficult situation of another dear friend. This is indeed a hard time for many of us. Anyone who is saddened at heart, burdened in mind and low in spirit, may the God be with him/her.

Jesus was saddened, was burdened and was grieved so that we wouldn't be dominated by sorrows and grief, weighed down by burdens. Jesus died on the cross so that we would live. Jesus suffered the loneliness and was abandoned by men so that we wouldn't suffer the same, so that we would be always accompanied by the love of God and each other.

Go to Him and leave all your burdens with Him. Lean on Him and do not despair. My dear friends, may God keep your heart and your peace. In times of difficulty, may we be joyful in God.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, wheneve you face trials of many kinds, because we know that testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. " - Jam 1: 2-4
